Walker speaks of her family and of their totem ; her views on the educational system for Aborigines ; about working as a domestic from the age of 13 ; her beginnings as a poet ; involvement with the civil rights movement ; she speaks of the destruction of the Aboriginal race ; she talks of her two books: “The dawn is at hand” and “We are going”. Walker reads the poems: “Son of mine”, “The dawn is at hand”, “Biami”, “The past”.
