Summary
Dr Jean Hailes was a pioneer in women’s health in Australia. In 1970 she began the first clinic in Australia dedicated to the management of women in midlife and beyond. Hailes was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia for service to medicine particularly in relation to women. Following her death in 1988, her colleagues and friends created the Jean Hailes Foundation to honour her memory.
