Rosslyn Ives stood as a candidate for the Australian Labor Party (ALP) in the Legislative Assembly seat of Kew at the by-election, which was held on 17 April 1973. She stood again for the ALP in the Legislative Council Province of East Yarra at the Victorian state election, which was held on 19 May 1973.
