Summary

Annette Werner was nominated for the ABC Rural Woman of the Year Award in 1995, for the Tropical North district in Queensland.

A sugar cane farmer in the Upper Pioneer region near Mackay, Queensland, Werner has a long standing interest in water management issues. She was a founding member of the board of the Pioneer Valley Water Cooperative in 1996 and was instrumental in it becoming the successful instrument it now is.
