When Alison Kendall was nominated for the 1995 A.B.C. Rural Woman of the Year Award, for the Riverina sitrict in New South Wales, she was running an ostrich breeding enterprise not far from Wagga Wagga, New South Wales. She remains extensively involved in the Wagga Wagga community.
