Naomie. A mother of two, was a full-time farmer who managed her own apple and pear orchard and beef cattle property with her father, and has two small children. She and her husband, who ran his own pear orchard, pioneered a niche export market, avoiding the traditional markets and contacts. In particular she planted new varieties that suited the growing Asian export market.

Naomie was a founding and executive member of the Young Tasmanian Fruit Growers Association, a Committee member, Chief Steward and Promotions Officer of the Huon Agricultural Society, and is currently wrote a 50th Anniversary history of the Huon Valley Agricultural Show.
