Joan Dwyer graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1961, signed the solicitor's roll in 1963 and came to the bar in 1978. She had a diverse and successful career that included working as a research assistant for Sir Zelman Cowen and, when in London, for solicitors to Queen Elizabeth II.
She was a Senior Member of the AAT (Clth) for 21 years and Chair of the Equal Opportunity Board (Vic).
