Summary
The daughter of Arthur and Ethel (née Pearce) Horden, Mary Ethel was born in England. Educated in Melbourne and Switzerland, she married surgeon Clifford Henry Searby on 6 August 1929. They were to have two sons. Mary Searby was a member of the Melbourne Hospital Auxiliary South Yarra Branch and the Children’s Hospital Auxiliary South Yarra Branch. On 13 June 1981 she was appointed to the Order of the British Empire (Civil) for service to the community. Mary Searby was a member of the Alexandra and Victoria League Clubs and her recreations included gardening.
