Auto/Biography

All the living women nominated as potential interviewees for the oral history project, but unable to be interviewed, were invited to contribute material to assist in the development of this exhibition.

For those women brought to the project’s attention, who are no longer living, others have generously contributed material about them.

Some women provided curriculum vitae that enabled the project to develop short biographical statements, others provided more discursive material, and a significant number took up the invitation to write something more reflective about their experiences as a woman lawyer in Australia.

You are encouraged to dip in and out of these ‘biographs’ as they are a rich resource in themselves and provide wonderful opportunities for the public to get a sense of women lawyers’ experiences while learning from them and being inspired by them.
