Summary
Lyn Woodhead was Queensland State winner of the ABC Rural Woman of the Year Award in 1996.
A beef producer from Kingaroy, Lyn has been a rural woman all her life, first the age of five. The driving force behind the success of her family property Lyn has performed a diverse number of active roles on the property. She has overseen mustering, drafting and transporting of cattle to market, and planting, scarifying and harvesting crops.
With her husband Eric, Lyn originally ran a wool and beef property near Winton for 17 years. They then moved to a cattle property near Gympie, and in 1989 they expanded to mixed farming at Kingaroy.
Lyn served as a Cattlemen’s Union National Councillor for Southern Queensland, and is regarded as a leader in rural industry.
Lyn’s other interests include managing the family country music group.
