Summary
A member of the Liberal Party, Jacqui Burke entered parliament in 2001, after filling the vacancy created by the departure of former Chief Minister Kate Carnell in the electorate of Molonglo. She failed to retain her seat at the election which was held in October 2001, but returned to parliament in 2002 after the move of Gary Humphries to the Senate. During the period from 2004 until 2008 she held the positions of Opposition Whip and Manager of Opposition Business as well as Shadow Minister for Health and Housing. She was defeated at the 2008 election.
