Dieckmann, Debbie
- Occupation Artist, Farmer, Tour operator
Summary
Debbie Dieckmann was nominated for the 1997 A.B.C. Rural Woman of the Year Award, for the Southern district of Queensland.
When she was nominated, Debbie was a fourth generation grazier in the Inglewood Shire who, with her family, ran a successful sheep and cattle property at Millmerran. Drought and issues with family health saw her develop a rethink. She turned her property into a thriving tourism venture and spent significant time overseas giving seminars on Rural Tourism in South Eastern Queensland. She was the first woman to actively promote this particular brand of rural tourism on the overseas market.
Debbie now runs a successful business as a mixed media artist.
