Summary
Kathy Finlayson was Western Australian state winner of the ABC Rural Woman of the Year Award in 1996.

Kathy has held many important positions in the community, including Chair of the Menzies St John Ambulance, Eastern and Central Regional Development Organisation, and the Board of the Goldfields Esperance Development Commission, the President of the Menzies Youth and Community Group, Kalgoorlie Air Branch of ICPA and Kalgoorlie School of the Air, and is a member of countless other boards, such as the Country Arts Board and the North Eastern Goldfields Hospital Board.
She has been a Councillor of the Shire of Menzies, and in 1996 was elected Shire President. Kathy was also involved in the Isolated Children’s Parents Association’s State Executive for W.A..
