24 hours 8 minutes A series of 17 interviews with women associated with the South Australian International Women’s Day Committee, founded in 1938. The interviews are biographical in structure and also include information about a range of other organisations, including the Union of Australian Women, Communist Party of Australia, Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, Women’s Liberation Movement and Women’s Electoral Lobby. The interviews were conducted in conjunction with a project to organise the Committee’s archives and prepare a new history for publication. The two research officers, who were also the interviewers, were employed initially with funding from the Commonwealth Jobskills program and then with support from the Women’s Suffrage Centenary Committee and the Department of the Arts.
