Sawer talks about how far women have come in Australian politics; problems faced by women; stereotyping; the ALP’s aim of proportional representation for women; problems faced by a women MPs in obtaining a suitable portfolio. She then answers questions from the audience regarding attitudes of male politicians; importance of affirmative action progress in Australia; value of radical feminists in Parliament and the role of women MPs.
