Finola Somers (née Meeking) was born in the United Kingdom in 1896. During her husband's term as Victorian governor (1926 to 1931), she was involved in several women's and community organisations including the Australian Red Cross and the YWCA and was a founding member of the Country Women's Association in Victoria. She died in 1981.
