Deborah Thiele was born in Waikere, South Australia. In 1994, she was named the Australian Rural Woman of the Year. In the 2007 Federal election, she stood as a candidate for the National Party. In 2007, she was appointed to the Telstra Country Wide advisory board. In 2010, she stood as a candidate in the state election in South Australia.
